Beschreibung:
Young people who complete an apprenticeship or dual study programme in companies are in a special phase of their lives with specific challenges. They are starting their careers, are faced with the need for long-term financial planning and take on the role of active economic citizens as voters and taxpayers. They have to make responsible decisions which require economic education skills that are not always sufficiently taught in the general education system.
The qualification programmes offered by the IÖB to accompany vocational training address this issue and provide support with face-to-face events, specifically designed for the target group. The topics range from teaching basic financial literacy, entrepreneurial thinking (entrepreneurship education), analysing the regional economic area, looking at selected sectors in an economic context, dealing with international economic relations through to discussing economic and business ethics issues and current developments in the economy and society.
In cooperation with the IÖB, companies, foundations and state actors can thus give trainees the opportunity to acquire important economic skills that are also relevant to their professional activities.
